Love to wander up and down every aisle and buy the whole shelf if the regular product we used is on discount. We have a large pantry, so we can stockpile discounted stuff, and eat or cook whatever we can find in the pantry. The problem us that if we cooked something awesome, we may never be able to replicate it. But I think only buying stuff on discount saved us lots of money. One time, smoked salmon, near use-by-date, was sold at 70% discount, so we bought as much as we can store in the freezer! and had smoked salmon sandwich for lunch for a couple of months. Fruit or veg is usually at its best and lowest price when in season, so we never had a preconceived idea what we want before grocery shopping.H2bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4170913783015287649.post-4216379279985371382014-04-07T16:53:05.232+01:002014-04-07T16:53:05.232+01:00Hi again River,

We rarely have to do a big shop.
However I do agree completely with you regarding the frustration of mrs PM and her vito on the cheese. For that reason, I always make sure of the important things myself.

For convenience I go to Tesco, it is the closer, but for people watching Waitrose is so much more entertaining, where people dress up to go grocery shopping. jeremy northhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14619517364832117418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4170913783015287649.post-20811181544645853922014-04-06T08:55:58.084+01:002014-04-06T08:55:58.084+01:00I dislike grocery shopping quite strongly. Here's a tip...buy everything else first, even the hidden flame raisins, then get your frozen and refrigerated foods on the way to the checkout. Minimise the temperature change that way to reduce the chances of spoilage.
I personally think it very unfair of Mrs PM to not buy the things you've requested. He buys things that aren't on the list and doesn't buy things that are on the list. And I don't care.
